The Certification of Product is a Certification of Origin and Quality of the Café do Cerrado, managed by FCC. It complements the Certification of Estate and consists in an important tool to trade coffees, used for the Cooperatives of the System. Its norm is registered in the INPI as Regulation of the Demarcated Region of the Cerrado Mineiro. The Certification of Product has as its fundamentals pertaining to the concept of Appellation, as follows:
• Official landmark of the producing region
• Perfect characterization and sensorial identification of the drink
• Posses norms and conditions of standardized production, homogeneous and codified, called Terroir
Hence, for the Certification of Product as Café do Cerrado, the fulfillment of the following requirements is necessary:
• Lot of certified coffees produced in the marked Region of Cerrado Mineiro, must come from an Production Estate Certified by FCC
• Drink that presents the sensorial characteristics of the Café do Cerrado. They are coffees above of 75 points in the methodology of the SCAA.
• Lot that are certified are stored in a warehouse also certified/credentialed by FCC.
* In the Certification of Product, the buyer receives the Certificate of the Origin and Quality, the report of the drink made by a SCAA Judge, the Security Seal with the Logistic Barcode in each bag of the coffee lot (color: green).
* The coffees between 50 to 74 points in the methodology of SCAA, are called Traceability Coffees and they go with the Security Seal with the Logistic Barcodes (in an white color), to assure the Good Agriculture Practice.
